Groix et Nature epitomises the charm of the Isle of Groix. A real 'conservatoire' of local food, the small-scale, non-industrial cannery refines existing traditional tastes and introduces new flavours.
Guyader Gastronomie opened the cannery on the Isle of Groix as an experimental showcase for local sustainable development. Its aims are to preserve and revive the traditional skills and expertise of canning, to create much-needed jobs on the island, to generate added value for local raw materials and to preserve and produce the best that nature can offer.
The recipes were patiently collected from the Islanders and local fishermen and are prepared on the island with an optimum sense of quality. The Groix et Nature range follows Breton traditions very closely with intense flavour seasoned with a hint of originality. The result is quite simply delicious.

Fish spreads
Rediscover the authentic taste of days gone by with Groix et Nature fish spreads. These fish 'rillettes', inspired by the fishing traditions of the Isle of Groix, are rich in flavour and full of taste. The range includes Breton-style scallop spread (scallops lightly browned in salted butter with shallots and parsley), grilled sardine spread (traditionally grilled sardines) and mackerel spread (mackerel seasoned with white wine and seasoning).
Specialities from Groix
Groix et Nature products are a sort of potted history of fishing on the island, expressed through the authentic flavours of its products.
Tuna fishing was responsible for the island?s heyday, so it is hardly surprising that the speciality range includes flaked albacore tuna with tomato, fillet of albacore tuna in olive oil and Godaille du Thonier (fish soup with mackerel and gurnard).
